HOW TO MATCH PEARL JEWELRY WITH YOUR NECKLINE

No outfit is complete without the right accessories. Your jewelry should enhance your outfit, not distract from it. Sometimes it’s challenging to find that perfect balance, which is why we’ve put together this guide to help you choose the right jewelry for your neckline to make a statement
without overpowering the rest of your outfit.

Turtleneck
Timeless River of Pearls Necklace

Attire involving a turtleneck can go really bad, but it can also be very elegant if you pair it with the right jewelry. A turtleneck has the tendency to make your neck look shorter, so pair it with a long chain or a long pendant. This will make your outfit elegant and elongate the neck. Our delicate Timeless River of Pearls Necklace is the perfect option for a classic, elegant look.

Scoop Neck
 Red Crystal Pearl Necklace
A round neckline works best with a short pendant with some volume; the pendant shouldn’t extend over the neckline of the top. Our Red Crystal Pearl Necklace is a perfect choice for a scoop neck.

Strapless
Pearl Cluster Earrings
Pair your strapless top with a chunky, layered choker with simple earrings. Alternatively, you can wear a simple choker to elongate the neckline. The choker should hit at the collarbone to show off your shoulders. Another option is to wear chandelier earrings with no necklace. Our Pearl Cluster Earrings will highlight your strapless outfit.

Square Neck
Life Balance Pearl Necklace
It’s often difficult to choose jewelry for a square neckline. A square neckline works well with an angular necklace – the strong, angular lines will enhance the jawline. Our Life Balance Pearl Necklace At Timeless Pearl is an elegant  but subtle choice which will add to your outfit without overpowering it.

Off-Shoulder
Golden Flower Pearl Bracelet

An off-shoulder neckline is a tricky one. But rest assured, there are a few pieces that work perfectly with an off-shoulder. Wear an asymmetric necklace with your top, or alternatively, wear only earrings and a cuff or chunky bracelet. Our Golden Flower Pearl Bracelet will bring balance to your outfit.

Halter Neck
Musical Note Pearl Necklace
A halter neck is a fun neckline with many options. You can either pair it with stud earrings and a chunky bracelet, or you can opt for just a slim pendant. A reverse halter works well with a triangular shaped pendant which points downwards to balance the lines out. Try our Musical Note Pearl Necklace with your halter neck top.

V-Neck

Lotus Leaf Pearl Necklace.
A V-neck draws attention to your face and neck. You can either opt for long earrings with no necklace or you can pair simple earrings with a pendant. A V-shaped pendant works well to compliment the lines, or you can opt for an understated pendant for a classy look. Try our Lotus Leaf Pearl Necklace.

Collar
Unique Circle Pearl necklace
A short pendant or choker is the perfect choice for a collar. As you will only see a glimpse of the necklace, make it count. Our Unique Circle Pearl necklace is a sophisticated option that will enhance your outfit.

Boat Neck
 Timeless Pearl Necklace – Love
With a boat necklace, you can wear either a neck bib or long strands of beads that fall over the neckline. Pair with simple earrings. Our Pearl Necklace – Love will work well with your boat neck top.

Cowl Neck
Silvery Snowflake Pearl Brooch
A cowl neckline is another one that’s sometimes difficult to style. You can pair it with statement earrings with no necklace. Depending on how deep the cowl is, it can work well with a brooch. Try our beautiful Silvery Snowflake Pearl Brooch for a touch of elegance.

Sweetheart
Pearl Peacock Necklace
A sweetheart neckline works well with a collar necklace and simple earrings, or you can pair it with a voluminous pendant, like our Pearl Peacock Necklace to compliment the shape.
We hope that this guide will help to clear up the confusion when choosing your jewelry so you don’t stand in front of the mirror trying out one piece after the other. Dressing just became so much easier!

CLASSY SUMMER OUTFITS: YOUR NUMBER ONE SUMMER ACCESSORY

A woman needs ropes and ropes of pearls  – Coco Chanel
Raised temperatures in summer call for cool outfits and of course cool accessories. We all know that a cute summer dress is a choice for any girl who wants to spend some time outside. But how do you jazz up your outfit without adding accessories that will make it too hot? The secret ingredient: pearls!

Keep Calm and Wear Pearls
Real pearls are always cold irrespective of the temperature, even if they come into contact with the direct sun, which makes pearls the perfect accessory to wear with your summer dress.
Another secret of pearls is that touching the cool beads have a calming effect on you. The famous Chinese Empress, Dowager Cixi (1835-1908), used to hold pearls in her hands when she had to make important decisions or had difficult meetings to attend. The pearls helped her keep her cool and calmed her down when she became stressed.
It’s not only Empress Cixi that realized the power of pearls; Style icons like Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, and Jackie O were all fond of pearls. A more modern style icon, Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, also incorporates pearls into her wardrobe.
Pearls are always appropriate  – Jackie Kennedy Onassis
Pearl jewelry can help you keep clear-headed and avoid your stress levels and will keep your temperature from rising.
How to Wear Pearls in Summer
Pearls can be worn with almost any outfit. Here are some unusual and modern ideas for wearing pearls this season:
Channel your inner mermaid with a pearl hair accessory, like our Princess Pearl Hair Band.
Wear a dress embellished with beads. Whether you choose a hot, body-hugging number, or a funky denim dress, embellished pearls will spruce up the outfit.

Wear a simple single strand of pearls with cute shorts, like our Empress Pearl Necklace.

COLOR TRENDS FOR YOUR SUMMER WEDDING INSPIRATION

Every bride-to-be knows there are thousand-and-one things to do when planning your wedding. You need to choose a venue, dress, a theme, decorations, a caterer … And let’s not talk about that dreaded guest list. Should you invite your distant cousin twice removed so that your estranged stepmom isn’t mad at you for the next decade? And what about the family drunk who likes to pick a fight when he’s had one too many? We can’t help you with your guest list, but we can help with your jewelry and color choices.

The colors you choose set the mood for your wedding day, and let’s be honest, you want to get it just right. Let’s help you decide which color combinations will complement your personality and achieve the mood you’re after. We’ve also thrown in some jewelry ideas that could go with each theme.

This neutral color combination works well for a romantic, rustic, or minimalist wedding. Combine neutral muted shades like sugar, latte, and Ashwood together, and pair it with a medium turquoise for some contrast. Roses work well with this timeless color combination. Choose an elegant string of pearls like our Timeless Pearl Necklace of Love for a classic appeal.

There’s no reason why you shouldn’t have lots of fun on your wedding day. After all, it’s the first day of the rest of your wonderful life together, so why not kick it off with a bit of theatrical fun? Be bold by adding bright and vibrant colors to your pallets, such as lime green, hot pink, and carrot orange. Neon colors like these can be classy if grounded with a neutral color like classic gray or slate. Don’t overwhelm your palette with too much color; just add a few pops here and there. Pair with simple and classy jewelry, like these Shining Stars Pearl Earrings.

Is there anything more refreshing than a minty green? Mint is a romantic but playful color that goes well with almost any color, especially other pastels. For a calming atmosphere, make mint your staple color and add sky blue, teaberry, and champagne into the mix. Our Piece of Love Pearl Necklace will complement this ultra-modern color scheme.

Every few years, retro-inspired themes make a comeback, and this season is no exception. Colors like aqua, cherry, and khaki are filled with personality and work well together. Add fun patterns like stripes and chevrons to your invitations and table arrangements. Our Gold Ribbon Pearl Brooch fits right into this exciting theme.

Feel the ocean mist with this cool and stylish color combination. Ocean blue, misty green, and silver is a winning combination for any sea-princess-bride. Our Sacred Love Pearl Bracelet will add a bit of elegance to your outfit.

The classic navy blue, tangerine and sugar colors are a perfect mix of cool and warm colors that screams summer. This look is ideal for a sporty and spontaneous couple. Pair with our bold Blue Flower Pearl Brooch to complete your outfit.

Let nature inspire you with this cheerful color combination. Combine classic yellow, cream rose, slate, and light moss green to channel a sunny look and feel. Opt for simple and muted table settings, and add a pop of color with yellow flowers here and there. The dark slate gives the color scheme depth and keeps the bright, sunny tones grounded. Our Marguerite Daisy Pearl Brooch will be the perfect addition to your sunny look.

PEARL JEWELRY IN FILMS THROUGHOUT THE AGES

Pearls and pearl jewelry featured in many films, both old and new, and are often used to symbolize themes. If you love both pearls and movies, we’ve put together a list of films featuring pearl jewelry that stood out for us. There’s something for every taste.

First Wives Club

In the First Wives Club, four friends get matching pearl necklaces for their graduation. Years later, after the suicide of one of the girls, the remaining three, played by Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn, and Diane Keaton, reconnect and plot to seek revenge on their husbands who left them for younger women. The pearl necklaces are a reminder of their friendship throughout the film.

The Great Gatsby

The film plays off in the 1920’s in Long Island and New York and follows the life of millionaire Jay Gatsby in his pursuit for the love of his life, Daisy, who is married to another. Daisy Buchanan was played by Mia Farrow in 1974 and by Carey Mulligan in 2013. The film is based on the 1925 novel by Francis Scott Fitzgerald, and it’s said that Fitzgerald partially based the character of Daisy on his wife, Zelda.

Pearls are featured throughout both films and are a symbol of materialism. In one scene, Daisy receives a 350,000 dollar necklace from her husband as a wedding gift the day before the wedding. Two of the pieces that stood out were the matching hand ornaments worn by Carey Mulligan. Each ornament was made out of a bracelet with strings of pearls, extended over her hand in a Daisy motif made from platinum and diamonds, and ended with a ring on her middle finger.

ENCIRCLED PEARL RING

Girl with a Pearl Earring

The plot of this film revolves around the events leading up to the making of the painting with the same name by Dutch painter, Johannes Vermeer, painted in 1665. The 2003 film cast Scarlett Johansson as Griet, a servant in the household of Vermeer, played by Colin Firth. In the movie, Griet was drawn in by Vermeer, helped him mix paints, and ended up as his muse. The pearl earring in the painting belonged to Vermeer’s wife, which he pressed into Griet’s ear before finishing the painting. It’s a wonder that the poor girl didn’t have a look of utter pain on her face.

BLOOMING FLOWER PEARL EARRINGS                    GLITTERING PEARL STUD EARRINGS

Bram Stoker’s Dracula

In the film made in 1992, Lucy the Vampire wore an exquisite multi-strand pearl choker with her wedding dress, which eventually became her burial dress. If you can get past the gory scenes in the film and the ridiculous wedding outfit with matching headpiece, you might be able to appreciate her pearl necklace.

Burlesque

In the 2010 musical, Christina Aguilera plays a small-town girl who moves to Los Angeles to pursue her dreams. She ends up at a Burlesque Lounge, owned by Tess, which was played by Cher, and soon becomes the venue’s headline act. In one dance scene, Christina wears a revealing costume completely covered by strings of white pearls. A show stopper and memorable moment for pearls.

The Three Musketeers

Milady de Winter is a spy and dominant antagonist in the movie based on the novel by Alexandre Dumas. In the 1973 version, Milady was played by Faye Dunaway, and the costume designers in this film loved their pearls. Faye was dripping with pearls – it was in her hair, sewn onto her clothes, and she wore pearl earrings, necklaces, and bracelets with almost all of her outfits.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s

No fashion movie list is complete without mentioning the 1961 romantic comedy, Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The socialite Holly Golightly, played by Audrey Hepburn, gave us the iconic look that many fashion designers are inspired by, and fashionistas aspire to. Holly wore pearls with many of her outfits, but one look stood out: a necklace with four strings of pearls held together by a Swarovski crystal brooch in the front with an elegant draping at the back.

Get your popcorn and get ready for a fun-filled evening drooling over pearl jewelry. We hope that this list will inspire and entertain you!
